This is an
update to our review of AddWeb4
which was published some time ago. The folks
at Cyberspace HQ Software have been
busy, and this new version -- AddWeb5
-- shows the benefits of their efforts.

AddWeb
has always been renowned for its ability to
submit to thousands of search engines and
directories and link sites, but it so much
more than that -- to compare it to other
submitter programs would be doing it a vast
disservice.
This new
version sports an improved interface with a
better selection of wizards for its various
modules. Overall, the application feels more
responsive, more flexible and much faster.
While I liked
the older version of AddWeb4,
I could see where some folks could get
frustrated by the amount of information the
older version required to run a promotional
campaign -- it took awhile to fill in all the
forms and fields. This new version lets you
get the ball rolling instantly.
I was able to launch my first campaign for a
new web site within a few minutes.
One of the
things that makes AddWeb5
stand apart from its competitors is its Page
Advisor analysis and reporting module. You
can tell it to analyze the effectiveness of
your web page meta tags and compare them to
your competitors to determine areas for
ranking improvement. Features like this take
the place of multiple third-party tools, and
the reports are both easy on the eyes and
packed with sound advice.
LinkTrader
is a new feature which enables you to improve
your link popularity by establishing
cross-links to special link pages maintained
by other AddWeb5 users. You merely
create an account, describe your site, and
then query the system to find appropriate
sites to establish cross-links.
The belief here
is that the more links to your pages that
exist on the Net, the better your popularity
and ranking on particular search engines. In
the past, I have done this all manually and it
takes a lot of time -- months -- to achieve
enough links to actually make a difference. LinkTrader
speeds this process up greatly.
Another good
feature of AddWeb5
is its integration with FrontPage. If
you live in FrontPage the way I do,
then you know that having the ability to both
analyze your web pages and then submit them to
the search engines -- all from within FrontPage
-- is a great time-saver and asset.
All in all,
this is one of those products that keeps
getting bigger and better and easier to use.
If you are looking for a web site analysis and
submission solution, then AddWeb5
should be on the top of your list. Click
